The 5 Types of Power and the Rise of Intuitive Leadership
Reclaiming influence through energy, lifeforce, and inner knowing.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting deeply on the nature of power — how we define it, how we use it, and how it shapes our day-to-day lives.
For many, “power” is synonymous with money. We’re taught that the person with the biggest bank account or most financial leverage is the one who holds the most power. But in my experience, from boardrooms to breathwork ceremonies, from startups to spiritual retreats, power is far more multidimensional.
True power is not about dominance or control. True power is about alignment. It’s about having full awareness over where your energy flows, how grounded you are in your essence, how calm your nervous system is, and what kind of influence you carry, both in the visible and invisible worlds.
Over the years, I’ve come to identify five core types of power that shape our internal and external realities: Financial. Social. Intuitive. Energy. Beauty.
Each of these plays a unique role in how we lead, connect, and create. When integrated, they generate magnetic leadership and authentic impact. When neglected, they can leave us feeling fragmented, depleted, or misaligned.
Let’s explore them:
1. Financial Power: Energetic Sovereignty
Financial power is often the most visible, but also the most misunderstood. Most people are driven by financial power because it provides freedom. It also gives you the ability to say no. To rest. To walk away. It’s fuel for creation, generosity, and innovation.
Yet many spiritually-minded leaders carry wounding around money, seeing it as separate from their purpose. In truth, financial health is a mirror of self-worth and capacity to receive.
Aligned financial power is necessary to create in this life. But it’s not the only, nor most important type of power.
2. Communal & Social Power: The Power of Connection
Your community and your network is another type of power. Social power is your amplifier — the trust, credibility, and resonance you’ve built within your networks. Who knows you? Who will advocate for you when you’re not in the room? Who will inspire you to become the best and highest version of yourself?
Communal power is your foundation. It’s your chosen family, your creative kin, your spiritual tribe. It’s the energy of being held, supported, and witnessed.
Together, social and communal power create a nervous system outside of your own, and I believe it’s one that helps you evolve, heal, and be seen.
3. Intuitive Power: The Inner Compass
Your intuition is likely the most underused superpower. Let me give you one example that saved me so much time and energy.
Months before the LA fires, I saw a visual clairvoyant image of the western LA cityscape destroyed. That insight helped shape important decisions to leave LA (where I was living close to the Palisades months before). I’ve had dozens of similar moments, where intuitive clarity saved years of energy, missteps, or misalignment.
I saved money, time, energy, and so much more by tapping into a primordial non-local wisdom.
Intuitive power gives you discernment. It helps you act from a place of resonance instead of reaction. And in a world saturated with noise, discernment will be the new currency of leadership.
Time is your most precious resource, and developing your intuition helps you protect it.
4. Energy: Lifeforce and Coherence as Leadership
Energy is the original currency. Ask anyone on their deathbed. At the end of our lives, we don’t crave more money, we crave more lifeforce. We crave more energy.
It’s your vibrational presence, your stamina, your clarity under pressure. It’s how you walk into a room. It’s how you recover from setbacks and how you process information. It’s the aliveness in your field that draws people toward you. It’s your health and how much vitality you have within you.
Your prana, and lifeforce, is the current of life you carry within you. Many people have dry, stuc,k and stagnant power. They have to rely on so many outside stimulants to feel alive and connect with their life force.
And when your nervous system is coherent — calm, clear, connected — you become magnetic. When it’s dysregulated, no external achievement can compensate for the internal chaos.
5. Beauty and Radiance as Power: Resonance Over Perfection
Beauty has always been a source of power, whether consciously acknowledged or not. It shapes perception, opens hearts, shifts frequency, and invites people in.
In truth, people are naturally drawn to beauty. They want to be surrounded by beautiful spaces, objects, and people, especially those who embody their beauty and radiance.
When someone owns their essence, when their energy, voice, and presence are in harmony, they become magnetic. This is a unique type of power that is alluring and compelling. Alone, it is powerful, but when you combine it with other types of power, you get a really powerful person.
The Integration: Power in Wholeness and Why Intuitive Power is Needed
Each of us holds a unique constellation of these five powers. You might have a strong social influence but low energy and vitality. Or financial stability, but disconnection from intuition or beauty. The key isn’t to rank them, but to reintegrate them.
When one person possesses full ownership of all or most of these powers and develops their intuitive power, they become a very powerful person.
It is my observation that in the next era, power won’t belong to the wealthiest investor. It will belong to the most energetically aligned, the most coherent, and the most intuitive.
As David Hawkins wrote in Power vs. Force, true power is magnetic and it attracts. The most powerful person in the room is the one who radiates coherence, clarity, and presence.
Why talk about power now? Because the systems we inherited in the Industrial era are cracking. And many are waking up to the truth that what we’ve been told is that power is just one-dimensional.
Many of us will be forced to acknowledge other types of power in the coming years, and I believe that intuition, discernment, and true integration and alignment are the superpowers of the future.
I’d love to hear from you.
